MTR wins prestigious Swedish Quality Award for the second time

MTR’s operation of the metro system in Stockholm has once again been recognised for its commitment to improving quality by being awarded a top award from the Swedish Institute for Quality.

In their citation, judges praised MTR Tunnelbanan’s high standards and proven track record in customer and employee satisfaction, as well as environmental, financial and social sustainability. The judges concluded that MTR has a true quality culture and is an excellent role model for customer oriented business development. MTR won this same award in 2014.

MTR has a track record of delivering performance excellence throughout its operations in Sweden, and in the UK, where it is operator of the UK Crossrail concession, to be renamed the Elizabeth Line, when this is fully open.

Jeremy Long, CEO European Business, MTR Corporation, commented:

“We are delighted that one of our Swedish businesses has won this award – which is competed for by Swedish businesses and organisations from all sectors. MTR have always been focused on adopting best practice, and delivering quality and excellent customer service, and will be bringing this same approach to the operation of the Elizabeth Line in London.”

Declaring their decision, the Swedish Institute of Quality said:

“[MTR] has a proven track record when it comes to results within customer and employee satisfaction, as well as environmental, financial and social sustainability. MTR Tunnelbanan has a true quality culture…is an excellent role model for systematic, customer oriented business development and is thereby highly worthy of receiving this award.”
